Central Pattana Celebrates Year 2 of Green Partnership Success, Accelerating Emissions Reduction with Brands toward Net Zero 2050

  • In its second year, more than 165 brands joined forces with the Central Pattana Green Partnership initiative to lower energy consumption and enhance environmental performance, with outstanding partners recognized at the Green Partnership Reward 2024 for their exemplary contributions.

As a Place Maker committed to People and Planet, the Company continues to embed sustainability across its business through the Ecosystem for All model. To mark the second year of success for the Central Pattana Green Partnership initiative, Central Pattana hosted the Green Partnership Reward 2024 ceremony, where Ms. Naparat Sriwanvit, Chief Financial Officer and President of Hotel and Office, presented awards to partners that achieved outstanding results in energy efficiency and environmental management across Central shopping centers. The event also showcased practical, easy-to-implement strategies with real environmental impact.

The Central Pattana Green Partnership has become a key strategy in the Company’s transition to a low-carbon society, with retail partners playing a critical role. In 2024, more than 165 brands participated across 2,656 outlets nationwide, collectively reducing electricity consumption by over 4,374,397 kilowatt-hours—equivalent to 217,144 tons of CO₂e emissions avoided.

At the Green Partnership Reward 2024, leading brands were recognised across two award categories:

1. Top 3 Brands Achieving Highest Overall Electricity Reduction:

  • Major Cineplex – Advanced its Green Cinema strategy by switching to laser projectors and installing smart air-conditioning systems across its theatres.
  • MK Restaurants – Conducted comprehensive energy audits across its locations, upgraded operations and equipment for greater efficiency, and fostered environmental awareness among staff.
  • UNIQLO – Earned the award for a second consecutive year with initiatives such as installing LED lighting and replacing traditional checkout systems with iPads, cutting energy use more than tenfold.

2. Top 3 Brands Achieving Highest Percentage Reduction in Electricity Consumption:

  • Saemaeul Restaurant – Installed timer systems to manage electrical systems and appliances, carried out regular cleaning and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems, and improved operational efficiency by, for example, optimizing refrigerator organization to minimize unnecessary door openings.
  • JASPAL Group (CC DOUBLE O and LYN) – Guided by its “Power of Sustainability” vision, the Group integrates environmental responsibility across all areas of its fashion and lifestyle business—from manufacturing to customer experience. Initiatives include launching a Sustainable Collection, deploying EV trucks for nationwide delivery, cutting in-store electricity use and waste, and encouraging customers to opt for paper bags made from recycled materials.

Central Pattana also presented a special award to partners that demonstrated strong, ongoing commitment to participating in environmental activities and workshops throughout the year. As part of this recognition, the Company supported three pilot brands—Bar-B-Q Plaza, Watsons and JASPAL—with the installation of smart meters and IoT devices to enable real-time energy monitoring and greenhouse gas emissions tracking and reporting. These tools were paired with expert consulting to co-develop a three-year strategy aimed at systematically reducing energy use and emissions, raising operational standards and paving the way for future-ready green retail.
